Recap: 'Party Down South - Blood, Sweat and Beers'

It's Quantity, Not Quality

The gang barely survives a wild taxi ride with an angry Mattie, Lauren gets fed up with her shady boyfriend, and Walt and Murray's prank gets hairy.

Also, we put two and two together, and realized Cody, the root of Hott Dog and Tiffany's beef, made a cameo appearance in season 2 of Party Down South! You may or may not know, we met Cody long before Hannah ever met him. Yes, he and his buddy kicked it one night with Daddy. Mind blown! What are the odds?!

Aside from the crazy parallels, we had another chance to ask creator SallyAnn Salsano what really went on in this episode of season 4. Here we go!

First off, how many back flips did Murray attempt before hitting his head? And, how long was Murray at the hospital? We gotta see this in reverse....

Too many for a guy his size. He actually pulled off one before getting cocky and introducing his forehead to the bottom of the pool.

Which tactic tends to do better with the ladies: Daddy's pick-up lines or Walt's hair-kini?

Depends. Some girls looooove being called baby gurl 1000 times and they eat it up. With Walt, he has a certain confidence with whatever he does that makes it hard not to fall for his moves. Whether its his hair-kini or dance moves, he has his pickup technique down pat.

Did Daddy ever use the spray-tan gun on himself during vacation, or just on Murray? How often did they spray tan?

Actually, that was one of the few times. Sometimes in all the chaos of the house they forgot about it. They brought it but they never really used it after that. They just went old school and let the sun do all the work.

Lyle is showing a softer side this vacation as he pines away for Santana. Can you tell us more about how he dealt with his relationship during the first few days in Florida? Anything we didn't see? More crying?

Always more crying. It's only a hour long show. Ha! Poor guy was having hard time and was really missing his girl. At certain points he just wanted to run away to her but ended up spending hours and hours on the phone with her. Love is a crazy thing and definitely brought out a new side of Lyle all season.

I can understand Hott Dogg's frustration with the guys, and their choice in ladies. When you care about your friends, you want them to have the cream of the crop. What's your take on the argument between Murray and Hott Dogg in the van?

You're right. Because when these guys fight they are all so super passionate they seemed super angry at each other but it truly comes out of a place of love. How they get their messages across to each other is definitely intense, but at the end of the day, it's about all of them having each others backs.

So sweet!

What's your favorite moment this episode? Why?

This is always the toughest question. For me its always watching how these guys evolve and grow each season. This new side of lyle was so unexpected I couldn't take my eyes and ears off of him talking to Santana. It was sweet first of all but the way they talk to each other was unintentionally entertaining. There is so much coming up in he next few episodes though that will make your jaw drop that I cant wait for everyone to see. It just keeps getting crazier and crazier. They never stop surprising us.
